Family Tree Project
Due Date: Check Your Syllabus Total Points: 50
Rubric
Guidelines:
1) Poster board or similar material and size; Place yourself as the root of the tree
3) Use branches to trace the route of your “Direct” ancestors (Mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc. No uncles, aunts, cousins, sisters of grandparents, are needed, etc.)
4) How far back do you need to go? As far as you can. I would like to see everybody go at least to the 1800’s. That will probably be great-grandparents or great great-grandparents.
5) Be sure to include some of the following, to add interest – lifetime years, locations, copies of photos (do not use originals), nicknames, interesting facts (serving in a war, jobs, etc.). You do not need those details for everyone.
6) Locate at least two primary sources for your family using the school accounts for Ancestry Classroom, fold3.com, or newspapers.com.
7) If there is any uncertain situation about whom to include (divorces, step-parents, adoptions, separation from parents) please consult your parent/guardian and myself. We will follow your guardians’ wishes and develop a plan for your family tree.
