Course Description
Purpose of Course:
This course is designed to help you develop a better understanding of economics in American society. In particular, this course will emphasize an understanding of Economics as an everyday tool in order to be better prepared for independent life.
Topics covered in this course will include: theories of consumer behavior, determination of input and output prices and quantities, analysis of international trade and policy, and applications including labor markets and income distribution.
Requirements:
· Six unit tests worth 700-800 points total.
· At least 2 individual projects worth approximately 50 points total.
· Random vocabulary quizzes covering assigned daily readings worth approximately 200 points total.
· A total of five case studies analyzing current events related to assigned textbook readings worth approximately 50 points total.
· All material from readings, lecture, discussion, videos or other materials may be covered on tests.
