American History
Purpose of Course:
This course is designed to help you develop a better understanding of the peoples, persons, geography, and ideals that have shaped American society since the Civil War. A comprehensive understanding of American History will involve evaluation of current issues in American society as well as an analysis of trends and themes that have played a major role in shaping the world we live in today. This course will examine how history is influenced by human perception. In particular, this course will emphasize an understanding of how the three themes of religion, warfare, and geography have influenced American development.
